Cardiff Wildcats Volleyball Club

Chairperson: Guy Robinson

I have been playing since 2000, initially with the Civil Service and subsequently with the Cardiff Volts and now with the Wildcats. With the Wildcats I have played in the Gloucester and South West leagues as well as open competitions from joining; I play as a middle hitter.

I play beach over the summer and have taken part in open competitions since 2006.

Discovered VB on my 2nd year in University in France. Played for the company team in Japan, then company team again in France before moving on to expatriate volley-ball in China and finally the Wildcats in Cardiff.

Treasurer: Tonia Thomas

Tonia began playing volleyball quite late in life. 6 years ago she joined some friends on the beach at Barry and fell in love with it. From there she began to play recreationally indoors during the winter months. She took a couple of years out, but took it up again 3 years ago with greater enthusiasm. Most recently she has played in the South West League indoors and has participated in 4 beach volleyball open tournaments in 2008.

I have been playing volleyball since taking it up at school in 1988. I first played competively for our school side and subsequently for City of Cardiff Men's Volleyball Club playing in the Cardiff Local League, along with my School Coach (Steve Marshall).

I later joined Cardiff Volts Volleyball Club again with the Local League. After a a few years out with injury I re-took the sport up and helped begin what is now Cardiff Wildcats. I play a variety of positions from Setter to my most recent position of Libero.
